In which I look back and forwards.

2011. What can I say? This has definitely been the best year of my life so far. I've experienced so much, made a crazy amount of new friends and had an absolute blast along the way. Where to start?

At the beginning of the year, March, I went on a week-long skiing trip to the French alpes with my school. I had such an amazing time and made some really good friends and, of course, it was a beautiful experience. I had never seen anything like it and I learnt loads of new things!
The snow was PERFECT. It was exactly the right consistency on the mountains but it had completely melted down it the village and it was actually hot during the day although it did get really cold at night - there was one incident where I left a wet towel out to dry during the day but forgot to take it in at night and it had completely frozen solid. Oh.My.God.

Moving on, at the end of 2010 I had signed up for this exchange programme at school. The focus is all on saving the environment - not languages because the schools that were involved were Dutch, Norwegian and Scottish. Anyway, in April I hosted a Dutch boy called Bob. His English was very good considering the circumstances and we had an absolute ball, all week:

I definitely made some amazing friends and all the Dutch and Norwegian students that came over were so genuinely lovely and we were all amazed by how good their English was.

In June my school holds a week where first year to third year sign up to go on a variety of different trips, and this year me and my friends signed up for a week on the isle of Eigg, which is a tiny island off the west coast of Scotland. Only 95 people live there and 10 of them are children. This was one of the best weeks of my life. I had an absolutely AMAZING AMAZING time!

The next week, as part of the exchange project, 3 girls from my school and I travelled to Norway. I have never made so many friends in one week. The week started off a bit rocky but things only went up and it ended up as a week I will most definitely remember for the rest of my life. The people I met were so nice and most of them were hilarious, I was laughing constantly! They also taught me some basic Norwegian hehe!

So there you have it; my most memorable moments of 2011. I can't believe all of this happened on ONE year! It feels like yesterday I was saying "Happy new year!" to everyone. I honestly struggle to see how 2012 is going to live up to 2011, what with my standard grades coming up and the fact that I have almost nothing planned for next year. I'm going to France with the school again next year, though - Paris this time, whith the music department ha. If 2012 is half as good as 2011 it will still be an amazing year!

Wow. That was a very long post! I'm sorry if you got bored hehe!

See you next year! ;)x

Soap & Glory: The Daily Smooth

I got a whole load of Soap and Glory stuff for Christmas/my birthday and I absolutely love it. I had planned on doing a review on thir hand cream, Hand Food, but it seems to have mysteriously disappeared so instead I'm going to review the body butter, The Daily Smooth.
The first thing that I really like about Soap and Glory is that it's targeted at teenagers. There isn't much in the way of skin products for teenagers out there and I know that I, as a teenager, often find myself buying products that are primarily targeted at adults when I know that my skin has different needs to an adult's. I don't know about you, but I find that the bottle is definitely designed to catch the eye of teenagers and the quirky name is something else that draws you to it.

When I opened the bottle, I was first hit by the smell. It has a lovely creamy smell and makes you want to rub it all over your body. It is body butter, and I would usually use it on my legs, but as I wasn't prepared to put pictures of my legs (which are covered in bruises) on the internet, I decided to use it on my hands instead.
The cream is so smooth and velvety and feels great as your rubbing it in. It's really soothing and feels like you're giving your skin a drink. I could feel it working away as soon as I was finished rubbing it in and my skin is now as soft as a baby's bottom (love that saying ha!) and feels packed with moisture. There was no stickiness and the immediate wetness you feel after rubbing it in was gone within a minute or so. I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE this product and will definitely, without a doubt, be buying it again. I will probably also invest in some of the other products in the Soap and Glory range as they are super amazing!
Highly recommended!

Happy birthday, Amy

Today is my birthday woohoo! I'm now 15, which means I'm now officialy allowed in to 15s at the cinema hehe! That's like the most exciting thing about my birthday ha. Anyway, I just wanted to show you some of the lovely things I got. My biggest present was a new camera, which was quite expensive so I only got a few other things.

I dive so I got a new swimming costume which came with a free water bottle which is actually very nice. I also got Ted Baker perfume, a book about photography to go with my new camera, another little bottle of perfume, a set of nail varnishes and false lashes (which, frankly, are horrible!). My grandad gave me £70 and my auntie gave me a topshop voucher and an edible blackberry phone which is made of chocolate!

This is my new camera! It's a fuji something or other but I was so excited I didn't look at the box. Silly me.

I also got the purpley bracelet with the wee thingys hanging off it for my birthday.

I decided to make cupcakes instead of a proper cake because I always find them too much to handle and I end up eating faaar too much and feeling sick.

Hope you've all had a nice day!

In which I go to the boxing day sales.

I hope you all had a lovely Christmas! I didn't post yesterday because I thought all of your dashboards would be heaving with Christmas posts so I just wanted to say that I hope evesryone had a wonderful day yesterday and that Santa treated you all well! I can't belive Christmas is over though - it still feels like Christmas should be weeks and weeks away. I am quite glad it's over though, because it's my birthday tomorrow. Wooooooo! I'm turning 15 so that means no more sneaking into films! I've decided to go to the cinema one day and just watch every 15 that's on, even if they're rubbish ha! I'm (supposed to be) getting a new camera so I'm absolutely buzzing.

I got this dress from River Island for Christmas and I love it! I can't wait to wear it.

These are just a few other bits and bobs I got, not everything though. I got a new ipod, Bridesmaids, a whole load of soap and glory stuff ( review to come!), a hat, a bag, nail varnish, a wee sparkly box thingy, a snood and a blanket and a sign from my Norwegian exchange partners, Malin and Yvonne. It says god natt & sov godt, which, I believe means good night & sleep well. I have hung it above my bed.

Today the boxing day sales were on in Edinburgh. It's always absolutely MANIC first thing in the morning because everyone feels the need to get up super early to get what they want and I actually read that Next opened at six o'clock. Why would you EVER be up that early in the holidays? Eh? However, as I didn't really want anything in particular, I arranged with my friend to go into town at ten o'clock, just to make sure there was still some stuff left. We ended up spending 4 and a half hours on Princes Street without actually buying much. I only bought one thing from the sales!
This is what I wore today. My big chunky knit jumper from River Island (which I also got for Christmas), black leggings from Primark and my chocolate uggs with the tops turned down to keep my tootsies toasty :)

I only actually bought four things (apart from a hotdog and coke!) and only one was from the sales. I bought a stripey jumper from H&M for £7.99, a top from Urban Outfitters for £10 pounds in their sale, a Barry M light blue nail polish and a mascara from superdrug.

This is the nail polish close up ( sorry for the rubbish picture quality!) I haven't tried it yet but I bought the mint green one a while ago and I really like it so I went back for more of the same. I might do a wee review about it soon, although on the other hand, I'll probably never get round to it! Hehe!

How was your Christmas? Did you go to the sales near you? Buy anything?

In which I re-design my header

As you can see, I've changed my header. However, I'm not sure whether or not I like it. I was getting super bored of my old one and, bleh. I guess I just thought it might be time for a bit of change. I know the image is slightly grainy but I think it kind of adds to it?

Anyway, I would like your opinion... keep this header, or go back to my old one? Here they both are. Let me know what you think in the comments! Thanks!
This is my old one ^

This is my new one^

Thanks! Let my know your views!!!

In which I go uptown

Those of you who live in, near or around Edinburgh might know that Winter Wonderland is up and running, and has been for a few weeks now. I went uptown with my friends today and decided I was going to be like a tourist and take hundreds of photos, which I did and I actually got some really nice ones.

We also went ice-skating but me and my freind, Detta had forgotten our gloves so we popped into the new Primark to buy some. It was the first time I've been in and I'm telling you, it's the most frustrating shop ever. The stairs confused me. Anyway, my friend was buying something else so she just took my money with her and paid for my gloves with hers but when she was in the queue I saw a 5 pack of bubble gum for £1. I realised how long it's been since I had bubble gum so I had to buy it. The looks from the check-out dude were hilarious. He must've thought I was a right nutter coming into this enormous Primark full of lovely clothes and buying a 5 pack of bubble gum...

I'm sorry most of these photos have the big wheel in them, but it was kind of the focus of my day hehe!
